Galle Face Hotel is one of the few hotels in Colombo where the address itself carries weight. Sitting on Galle Road facing the Indian Ocean, this is the city's oldest hotel and a genuine piece of colonial-era architecture that still functions as a working luxury property. If you are booking a hotel in Colombo and want atmosphere alongside your room rate, this is the default answer. The Hilton Colombo offers more predictable international-chain polish, but it cannot match the sense of place you get here.
